social media & event coordinator

We're looking for a highly motivated and ambitious social media guru with experience and a passion for driving excitement. You will be instrumental in expanding Bartesian's brand awareness across all social channels. You have prior work experience successfully managing and developing social media accounts. The position is full-time in our modern office space in Velocity (previous Google space), reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. Find out more here


Duties include: 

• Publish content to social platforms that is customized for the medium (e.g. eye-catching titles) 
• Work with editors to develop social content and engagement strategies based on analytics
• Work with the COO, and marketing firm to develop, launch, test, report marketing strategies
• Develop and expand community reach, growing followers and fans
• Build relationships and engage with social media influencers to develop cross-promotions
• Manage, implement, and track social ad campaigns (e.g. Facebook ads, etc.) 
• Analyze audience growth, engagement, content reach, feedback and tweak strategy as needed
• Educate editors and staff on social media developments, changes and best practices
• Compile reports for management showing results

Qualifications and Experience: 
• A degree in Marketing is an asset, but not required
• Creativity and documented immersion in social media (please include links to your profiles in your resume) 
• A passion for digital media and general knowledge of direct to consumer marketing
• Skilled in content marketing
• Experience using social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) ad management dashboards
• Excellent writing and language skills
• Enjoy working in a collaborative and creative work environment
• A team player with the confidence to take the lead and be self-starting when necessary
• Working knowledge of Squarespace or Wordpress, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Responsible for design of machines, components, tools, and fixtures
• Review Requirements and Technical Specifications to develop design concepts
• Perform FEM
• Investigate design failures/problems from the prototype phase to regular production
• Review drawings for accuracy, material selection, proper machining techniques, finishes, hardness, etc.
• Liaise with internal and external fabrication and machine shops to evaluate manufacturing feasibility and associated costs
• Specify appropriate components, obtain quotes, and outsource purchased and manufactured parts from vendors
• Prepare BOM (Bill of Material) ensure that all designs and work performed meet established Canadian and international standards
• Review electrical requirements with respect to input and output devices, with electrical designers
• Test equipment definition and design
• Develop testing procedures
• Supervise and inspect the modification and commissioning of equipment builds
• Create and maintain concise documentation and drawings including concept sketches, detail & assembly drawings and bills of materials

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience designing parts for injection molding
• Experience working with tool designers to create effective tools quickly
• 4+ years related experience in design for high volume production taking into account electrical fluid dynamics, and mechanical components
• Extensive knowledge of 3D modelling and creation of engineering drawings (SOLIDWORKS)
• Knowledge of North American and European safety standards (CSA, UL, CE)
• Effective communication in English, both written and verbal
• Good understanding of materials & properties, manufacturing processes and techniques
• Capable of working in a high-pressure environment with a strong sense of urgency and effectively meet required deadlines and priorities
• Experience in packaing design an asset
• Knowledge of the food industry, food safety and sanitary design principles an asset
